Overview
Salt Lake City bid to host the 2034 Winter Olympics. The pitch was delivered live to the International Olympic Committee, the room that decides.
I designed the narrative and the presentation that carried it.
My Role
Designer. I curated the imagery, refined the pacing, and shaped the visual flow of the bid presentation, built beat by beat in service of the people delivering it.
The Challenge
An Olympic bid lives or dies in the room. The design had to carry real emotional weight without stepping on the speakers. Loud design would have competed with them; flat design would have let the story sag.
The Approach
The bid team had strong content. What it needed was cohesion: imagery, pacing, and narrative flow pulling in one direction. I aligned tone, story, and design so the narrative read clearly on an international stage.
I kept the design quiet and built it to pace the story, so the speakers stayed the focus and the visuals did the supporting work.
The Outcome
The bid won. Salt Lake City will host the 2034 Winter Games.
